Upcoming Sessions

There are no more sessions for this year. If you would like to view the recording, slides, or other relevant material for any of the presentations this year, please go to the 2022 HDR Training Moodle Site!

We look forward to providing another great seminar program for HDR candidates in 2023. All the best with your studies!

Frequently Asked Questions

Each session description includes a blue Register Now button. If you click on this button, you will be redirected to the general Registration page. You will also have the option to modify your registration here. Once you have registered for one or more sessions, the sessions will appear in My Registrations at the top of the page, and you will also receive an email confirming your registration.

When you register for sessions for the first time, you will be asked to provide certain information to give you a personalised and interactive experience.

All information relating to the sessions will be initially collected and stored by Swoogo (an event management platform) on behalf of UOW. Swoogo will store data on servers located in UK/Ireland and in accordance with their Privacy Policy. UOW will access and manage all data captured during these sessions in accordance with our privacy policy. De-identified data may be used by UOW for quality assurance and future program planning purposes.

You can modify your registration at any time via your login details provided at registration.

You can do this by clicking on the My Registrations tab in the main menu and selecting Modify Registration at the bottom of the page.  You can update your personal details, as well as change your selected sessions.

All sessions will be delivered online via Zoom in Spring session. When you register for an online session, it will be listed in My Registration with a Zoom link available via the Join Session button.

If you click on the Join Session button before the session start time, you will enter a waiting room until the Zoom session begins.

We encourage you to read through the description, learning outcomes and target audience sections of each session that sparks your interest before registering. You will then have a better idea of which session/s will be most suitable for your individual training needs and skill development goals at your current stage of candidature.

We also suggest that you speak with your supervisor/s to see if there are any sessions that they recommend you attend in line with your research project, training needs and goals for skill development.

We have included a Target Audience section for each session to give you a better idea of which sessions may be more or less relevant for you at your current stage of candidature.

HDR candidates who are not in the Target Audience of a session are also very welcome to attend, and we encourage you to register for as many sessions as you would like.

We are planning to record all Spring 2022 sessions, unless otherwise specified in the session description. If you unable to attend a session, recordings will be uploaded to the 2022 HDR Training Program Resource Moodle site by Monday of the week following the session.

While we have aimed to develop an extensive training program that meets diverse HDR training needs, there are various topics that we were unable to fit into the Spring schedule. There are also a small number of sessions still to be announced.

Some of these topics were included in the Autumn schedule, and you can find recordings and slides from Autumn sessions in the 2022 HDR Training Program Resource Moodle site.

HDR candidates can also self-enrol into Epigeum Research Skills Toolset modules covering a variety of topics on Moodle here.

If there are any additional topics or areas that you would like further training in, please contact the GRS Training and Development team via graduateresearch-training@uow.edu.au
