Lucy is a final year PhD candidate exploring how digital and social media make the publishing process more visible to readers, and therefore changing the way that we read. Lucy is fascinated by academically underrepresented categories of literature, such as contemporary genre fiction, and analyses the complex ways that its young fans interact with texts online.

Abbey is a second-year PhD candidate committed to improving access to justice and advocating for the rights of innocent, wrongfully convicted persons in Australia. Using a principles-based approach, her research aims to identify gold standards for post-appeal review pathways and strengthen their capacity to uncover and address wrongful convictions.

Sarah Cameron’s research explores the molecular mechanisms underlying common mental health conditions, with the goal of advancing treatment options. Her PhD focuses on the habenula - a small brain region also referred to as the brain’s “disappointment centre” - and how its dysregulation contributes to depression.

An Accredited Practising Dietitian, Denelle’s research explores the relationship between diet, inflammation, and the gut microbiome in people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Denelle hopes her research will contribute to dietary interventions that can improve gut health and reduce inflammation for people living with this chronic, autoimmune disease.
