As AI tools become more common in thesis writing, the idea of authorship is shifting—from legal and ethical concerns to practical and creative questions. This workshop explores how AI is reshaping writing practices and examines its impact on voice, structure, and meaning-making. Participants will consider how to use AI responsibly, while preserving a strong, authentic authorial voice and engaging critically with disciplinary knowledge.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Identify how AI affects writing style, structure, and source use.
  • Distinguish between human and AI-assisted writing and their implications for author identity.
  • Reflect on the ethical use of AI in academic writing.
  • Use AI tools strategically without compromising authorship or critical thinking.
