Workshop description:

A well-written literature review doesn't just summarise existing research—it frames your project, identifies gaps, and positions your work within the scholarly conversation.

This workshop will guide you through the key steps to writing an effective, analytical, and well-structured review. It will be led by Dr Anne Hellwig, subject coordinator of RESH900: Fundamentals of HDR Writing, a course dedicated to developing strong literature reviews.

In this session, you will learn:

  • The purpose of a literature review in your thesis
  • The importance of critical thinking, reading, and writing
  • How to structure your literature review effectively
  • How to use language to position your work and build a clear narrative

This session is particularly suited to early and mid-stage HDR candidates.
