Workshop description:
Industry engagement is becoming an increasingly important part of research training. PhD internships offer HDR candidates opportunities to apply their research expertise, build industry connections and explore career pathways beyond academia. But what exactly is a PhD internship, and how does it work at UOW?
Join the Dean of Graduate Research and UOW’s PhD Internships Specialist to learn about our approach to PhD internships and how candidates, supervisors and industry partners can work together to develop meaningful opportunities.
In this session, you will:
-
Explore what a PhD internship looks like and how it can complement research and employability
- Learn about UOW’s approach to PhD internships and the support available to candidates and supervisors
- Gain insight into how industry relationships form and how meaningful internship opportunities are developed
- Hear case studies and examples of PhD internships in practice
This session is for both HDR candidates and HDR supervisors. There will be dedicated time for Q&A at the end of the session.
