All researchers in Australia are required to act with research integrity. When starting out as a researcher, you may have a good understanding of the concept of integrity but are you confident of how integrity applies to your research activities and what your responsibilities are? Do you know what to expect of your supervisor and UOW? Do you know the rules on data collection and storage? If things go wrong, do you know where to turn?

This seminar will provide an introduction to the key principles of Research Integrity, and explore some practical examples to support candidates onto the right path.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this seminar, you will:

  1. Understand the principles set out in the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and the framework governing research at UOW
  2. Be able to identify the responsibilities of student, staff and institutions with a particular focus on the supervisory and data management guidelines
  3. Know where to find additional sources of information, assistance and further training

Target Audience:

  • Late stage HDR candidates
  • Any HDR planning to publish their first article
  • Any HDR looking to understand more about finishing up their PhD project with integrity
