Thursday 17 August
9:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Location: 67.101

Candidates need to be able to draw in their audience, especially when presenting their research. In this workshop, you will learn how to communicate your research and captivate your listeners.

A good thesis tells a story. From the first sentence of the first paragraph, the reader should be drawn by a relatable issue, and sent on a journey through the pages to arrive at a well crafted conclusion.

During this workshop you will learn skills to present your research confidently, clearly, and to speak in a manner that engages your audience from the moment you begin your presentation. You will learn to tell a story through your research, captivating audiences - both academic and non-academic.

You will also develop skills to manage anxiety experienced before and during presentations, all while building confidence in your ability to communicate your research to others.

Learning Outcomes:
Candidates will develop skills in presenting, managing anxiety, and building confidence during spoken presentations.
