Workshop Description:

Writing a HDR thesis is a significant undertaking, demanding careful planning, research, and organisation. This workshop will clarify the content that should be included in a thesis and how to organise this content.

Tasks:

During the session, under guidance, candidates will be invited to:

  • Plan how they will address the common concerns that examiners raise
  • Identify the argument they will use to show how the unique features of their research address key problems or controversies,
  • Uncover the key arguments they will propose to fulfill the protocols in their field,
  • Plan the paragraphs in one section of their thesis.


Learning Outcomes:

Candidates will learn:

  • The common concerns that examiners raise and how to prevent these concerns,
  • How to demonstrate originality, critical thinking, and other key attributes in the thesis,
  • Which protocols candidates should utilise to determine which content to include,
  • How to organise their arguments persuasively and coherently.
