Workshop Description:

This workshop equips PhD candidates with essential skills to write a compelling thesis as efficiently as possible. Participants will learn techniques on how to write more persuasively, precisely, and professionally.

Tasks:

Under guidance, candidates will be invited to enhance their existing work, with an emphasis on

• Avoiding words or phrases that tend to be ambiguous,
• Using words or phrases that tend to be convincing,
• Rearranging sentences to comply with a specific formula –a formula that has been shown to enhance credibility.

Learning Outcomes:

Candidates learn how to:

• Convey their arguments persuasively and precisely,
• Convey ideas succinctly but comprehensively,
• Engage the reader and write more appealingly,
• Learn to write more fluently and rapidly.
