Join the Year 12 Future Me Program

Improve your HSC study skills, prepare for important decision-making and explore your post-high school opportunities with our Year 12 Future Me Program. This program allows you to experience a taste of UOW student life, connects you with UOW student mentors currently studying at UOW and helps you navigate UOW’s Early Admissions process.

The Year 12 Future Me Program is free for all eligible students offered a place in the program in 2024. Applications close at 11:59pm on Sunday 18 February, 2024.

Applications for the Year 12 Future Me Program have now closed

    • Up to 6 hours of free Year 12 and beyond skills development under the guidance of our university student mentors who are current UOW students with wonderful experience in navigating the HSC/IB, university life and post-school decision-making.
    • Students who successfully complete the Year 12 Future Me program will be identified with UOW Admissions to determine eligibility for an offer for a UOW Faculty Degree or UOW College Pathway.*
    • Face-to-face and online subject resources to assist with the HSC, including the opportunity to attend HSC Subject Support Sessions delivered by HSC markers before you sit your HSC trial exams.
    • Assistance completing your Early Admission applications and UAC online applications.
    • Mentoring to explore post-high school options, including higher education and pathways options based on your Year 12 academic performance.
    • Assistance understanding UOW Accommodation options, living out of home considerations and opportunities and financial considerations when becoming a university student.

You are invited to apply to the Year 12 Future Me Program if you meet the following criteria:

  • You must be completing your HSC or IB in 2024 at a high school in the Illawarra/South Coast/South Eastern NSW/Far West NSW/Western Riverina/Snowy Monaro/Clarence Valley/South Western Sydney Region or Sutherland Shire.
     
  • OR meet one of the following criteria:
    • Completing the HSC in a rural or remote area
    • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
    • On a permanent humanitarian visa or have refugee status
    • Currently experiencing financial hardship, disability/mental or physical health condition or social disadvantage that have impacted on your studies*

Please Note: Students will be offered placement in the program based on application strength & individual circumstances. Some delivery locations & sessions will have capacity limits.

Year 12 Future Me will run weekly, for 6 weeks, between Weeks 7-11 of Term 1, 2024 and the final celebration week of the program will be hosted in Week 1, Term 2, 2024 as per published NSW Department of Education school term dates.

  • UOW Wollongong - Wednesday 4pm to 5.30pm
  • UOW Wollongong - Thursday 4pm to 5.30pm
  • UOW Sutherland - Thursday 4pm to 5.30pm
  • UOW Liverpool - Wednesday 4pm to 5.30pm
  • Oran Park - Julia Reserve Community Centre - Thursday 4pm-5.30pm

Online ONLY Option - for students in rural and remote locations or unable to commute weekly to a campus location

The program helped me to understand the UOW Early Admission process, focus on the important parts of the application and reduce pressure as I felt I knew what I was doing. Being able to interact with my university student mentors, just the constant ability to ask experienced uni students any questions and always receiving a valuable response with no judgement
