2026 UOW Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Final will be judged by a panel of experts providing a broad range of research experience and insight.  The judges will carefully evaluate each presentation, drawing on their deep knowledge to help identify outstanding communication and research impact.

Professor Max Lu AO

Vice-Chancellor 
University of Wollongong

Professor Max Lu AO is Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Wollongong, and a globally recognised chemical engineer and advanced materials scientist. He has held senior academic leadership roles in Australia and the UK, including at the University of Queensland and the University of Surrey, and is an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to education and international research.

Professor Danielle Skropeta

Dean of Graduate Research and Research Culture                                                                                                                University of Wollongong

Professor Danielle Skropeta is Dean of Graduate Research and Research Culture at the University of Wollongong, where she leads initiatives to strengthen higher degree research training, research integrity, and the overall HDR experience. With over 20 years at UOW in research and leadership roles, she is focused on building strong research culture, industry connections, and leadership pathways for the next generation of researchers.

Dr Jacki Johnson

Visiting Research Associate, Board Director and Consultant

Dr Jacki Johnson is a visiting research associate of UOW, having completed her PhD at UOW in 2024 and is a sessional faculty member of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership, a member of Academy of Management and Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management. In addition, Jacki is a Non-Executive Director of Community First Bank and managing director of her own consultancy practice Focusing Moments Pty Ltd.
