FAQs
Most HDR Development Program workshops are optional. However, continuing HDR candidates are required to complete at least one live Research Integrity Training workshop each year.

First-year HDR candidates
From 2026, all first-year HDR candidates are required to complete the Epigeum Research Integrity - Core Training (TRNG008_25) by 2026 Annual Progress Reporting (APR). The 4-hour CORE training only needs to be completed once during your candidature.
Continuing HDR candidates (2nd year+)
Returning HDR candidates must complete the Epigeum Research Integrity CORE training by 2026 APR if they have not previously completed it. If you completed the CORE training in 2025, you do not need to complete it again in 2026.
Continuing HDR candidates must also complete one live Research Integrity workshop each year. The 2026 Autumn workshop covered Conflicts of Interest. The Spring workshop covers Responsible Authorship and Publication Practice.

Workshops are specifically designed for Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates at UOW. This includes candidates studying Master of Research, Master of Philosophy, and Doctoral degrees.
Where possible, workshops will be recorded and made available through the HDR Development Hub.
Please note that some workshops, including Research Integrity Training, are not recorded.
