When you click the 'Register' button underneath any of the sessions, it will direct you to the general registrations page. You will be required to create an account with your email and a password, and enter in some personal details. You will then have the option to register for any of the available Researcher Development Sessions. You can select to attend as many or as few sessions as you like

Once you have created an account using your email and password you will be able to log back in again using these details and modify your registrations at any time. This means you can sign up for different sessions at different times. It also means you can remove your registration if you have previously registered for a session that you can no longer attend.

Sessions may be presented as Dual Delivery (In-Person and Online), In-Person Only, or Online Only. Some session are being run on multiple occasions to accommodate multiple delivery types. Please check the description of each session to confirm the delivery method.

Sessions which are run online will be delivered via Microsoft Teams. When you register for a session you will be sent a confirmation email and calendar invite that will include the link to join the Microsoft Teams meeting. Sometimes the link may not be available until the reminder email which will be sent the day before the session.

If you are unfamiliar with Microsoft Teams, please see the instructions below for how to join a meeting.

  1. Prior to the session, download the Microsoft Teams app onto your device (https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoft-teams/download-app) and log in using your UOW student account (logging in is not essential as you can still join a Teams Meeting even if you are not logged in)
  2. At the time of the session, click the meeting link sent to you in the email/calendar invite
  3. The link will open in a browser and a pop-up window will appear at the top of the browser
  4. In the pop-up window, check the box 'Always allow teams.microsoft.com to open links of this type in the associated app', then click 'Open Microsoft Teams'
  5. This will open the link in the Microsoft Teams app. Ensure your video and audio settings are correct then click 'Join Now'

NOTE: If for some reason you cannot download the Microsoft Teams app to your device, you can join the meeting from your browser instead. You can do this by clicking the meeting link in the email/calendar invite, then selecting 'Continue on this browser'.
